An abstract art of waves of oceanic sound beneath your feet.
This rug is crafted from New Zealand wool. We source our wool from ethical, cruelty-free farms that care for the sheep throughout the shearing and extraction process. Wool has traditionally been the most commonly used raw material in rug making because it has a number of advantages. Wool offers quality and flexibility. It is 100% biodegradable, hypoallergenic, easy to care for, and ages well. Besides, it is also considered a great thermal and acoustic insulator, and regulates humidity naturally.
Hand-knotting is a traditional rug-making technique, where your rug is woven by hand on a special loom. It takes time and considerable skill to produce these rugs, which is why only some of our most experienced artisans make it. Unlike hand-tufted rugs, they are flatter and can be made from a range of different materials.
Every Spacewarp rug is made to order, crafted entirely by hand and tools. This means it usually takes 6-7 weeks from start to finish.

General care
· Keep in a well ventilated area
· Avoid exposing to direct sunlight
· Vacuum your rug regularly. (It’s normal for it to shed fibres; this will reduce over time.)
Washing / Deep cleaning
· To deep clean by shaking the dirt and vacuuming.
· Clean with a mixture of mild detergent and cold/lukewarm water.
· Take care not to wet the rug too much
Spot cleaning / Removing stains
· In case of stains from spills or muddy footwear, remove any solid objects and use paper towels to absorb any excess liquids.
· You can use stain removers too but never use directly on the rug. Always pour some on a clean white cloth and apply onto the affected area.
· If you’re using the stain remover for the first time on your rug, please test it on a patch to make sure the colours don’t run.
· Don’t use chlorine, bleach, ammonia, etc. as these can damage the wool and cause colours to bleed.
· If food or liquids spill onto a carpet clean the spill as soon as possible. First, blot up any excess fluid. Use club soda or warm soapy water and a clean cloth or towel to remove the remainder.
Our products come in a few standard sizes that work across a range of spaces. A great way to avoid getting a product that doesn’t fit is to take measurements of your space before picking the size. In fact, measure it twice, just to be sure.
Each rug is handcrafted by our artisans, which means while they will be similar, no two rugs will ever be the exact same. In fact, we believe that’s the beauty of it so go ahead and embrace the wabi-sabi.
If you have an idea or design in mind but don’t see it in our catalogue, just send us a note at vrajang@spacewarprugs.com with your sketches, ideas and moodboards, and we'll help you bring your ideas to life. Prices of bespoke rugs will vary depending on the complexity of your design.
