This rug is crafted from jute, a tropical plant that flourishes in parts of India and Bangladesh. This plant is 100% biodegradable and recyclable, thereby minimising the environmental impact and carbon footprint of your rug.
A classic weaving technique, your kilim rug is made by interweaving the warp and the weft, or the vertical and the horizontal strands. This produces a flat-weave rug with no pile (rug-speak for carpet height).
All spacewarp rugs are made-to-order. The whole process — from drafting the design, shearing, dying the yarn to weaving/tufting and delivering the rug to you — takes roughly 6 to 7 weeks.
Our products come in a few standard sizes that work across a range of spaces. A great way to avoid getting a product that doesn’t fit is to take measurements of your space before picking the size. In fact, measure it twice, just to be sure.
Each rug is handcrafted by our artisans, which means while they will be similar, no two rugs will ever be the exact same. In fact, we believe that’s the beauty of it so go ahead and embrace the wabi-sabi.

Since our rugs are made to order, we may not have the materials anymore to make one of our old designs. However, please write to us at shop@spacewarprugs.com and if we have all the materials on hand, we can definitely make it for you.
