This rug is crafted from New Zealand wool. We source our wool from ethical, cruelty-free farms that care for the sheep throughout the shearing and extraction process. Wool rugs help you create the perfect cozy, comfortable environment the Danes call hygge.
This rug is hand-tufted which means we make it partially by hand and partially by a mechanised tool, and it has individual fibres held together at the base. The process requires a tufting gun that our skilled artisans use to punch the fibre strands into the base fabric of the rug.
All spacewarp rugs are made-to-order. The whole process — from drafting the design, shearing, dying the yarn to weaving/tufting and delivering the rug to you — takes roughly 6 to 7 weeks.
Our products come in a few standard sizes that work across a range of spaces. A great way to avoid getting a product that doesn’t fit is to take measurements of your space before picking the size. In fact, measure it twice, just to be sure.
Each rug is handcrafted by our artisans, which means while they will be similar, no two rugs will ever be the exact same. In fact, we believe that’s the beauty of it so go ahead and embrace the wabi-sabi.

Since our rugs are made to order, we may not have the materials anymore to make one of our old designs. However, please write to us at shop@spacewarprugs.com and if we have all the materials on hand, we can definitely make it for you.
When it comes to choosing a workshop, we partner with only the best. Our partner artisans are master craftspersons, and some come from a long line of carpet weavers and rug makers. Which means, every spacewarp rug comes with a seal of excellence.
